Does it freak anyone else out how time goes by SO STINKIN FAST!?! On June 17th last year I was packing up my backpack and heading to the airport for my first international flight. I was a ball of nerves and 110% freaking out about traveling alone.
Now, I would jump at any chance to travel – alone or not!
I had such big plans to blog about my adventures as I went, but this whole ‘live in the moment, you can blog when you are back in boring America’ mindset took over and that never happened. I filled up no less than 6 memory cards and my entire iPhone 5 memory with pictures, and I think it’s time to share those beauties with you all. I documented everything from my food, my 100th cappuccino, the stray cats, my shoes, random people, literally everything. I’ve done a couple random recaps, but they weren’t very thorough and a lot of my photos got lost when I moved my blog from Blogger to WordPress.
We’re going to do this recap of my journey in ‘real time’ to make it more special! Instead of posting every day of the week with more travel photos (which may make y’all crazy), I’ll post once a week for every ‘major’ city!
Ready to adventure back in time with me? Here’s our itinerary:
First things first
I’m the realest is Rome!
Rome was one of the cities I was most excited to visit for quite a few reasons:
1. I could actually USE my knowledge of Latin for the first time in my life
2. I have a weird obsession with Dan Brown and I wanted to pretend to be Robert Landgon and run around the city being knowledgeable about art
3. Fun fact: for a semester, I was an art history major and fully immersed in the world of Roman art history. I LOVE the art and architecture in this city, and it was like my textbooks came to life!
